Ultrasonically Deposited Nanoparticle Coatings on Polymeric Biomaterials for Medical Application
11/09/2018
Introduction

The ETPN RegMed WG webinars are open to both ETPN members and non-members.  By presenting recent advancement of ETPN members in the Regenerative Medicine field, these webinars aim to improve know how exchange, identification of key European experts and a wider networking between ETPN members (e.g. for collaborative projects). It is also intended to keep webinars open for ETPN non-members, particularly for industrial companies, to facilitate cooperation between researchers and enterprises (mainly SMEs).

Speaker
Julia Rogowska-Tylman

Julia graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Warsaw in the field of dental materials in 2011 and the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology in a field of biomaterials in 2014. In 2015, she became the founding member of the Polish Nanomedicine Association. Currently, she is PhD student at Warsaw University of Technology and postgraduate student at MBA – Innovation and Data Analysis studies at IPI PAS (Poland)/ Woodbury School of Business, Utah Valley University (USA). Her research work mainly focuses on surface modification of metallic, ceramic and polymeric implants with bioactive nanoparticles by ultrasonic coating and fabrication and pre-clinical studies of fibrous polymer implants for maxillo-facial and oral surgery and implantology.

Webinar content

In the webinar, a method for ultrasonically deposited nanoparticle coatings on polymer biomaterials for medical applications was introduced. The novel method of nHA deposition on the polymeric structures can serve as an alternative for currently known tissue engineering implants modifications. It can also enhance the bone regeneration process in bone/implant interface region.
