AMIRES presented the EU funding opportunities in clinical research

On November 13, 2024, our Programme manager, Mariana Pacheco Blanco, in behalf of AMIRES presented the EU funding opportunities in clinical research to clinicians and researchers in clinical research from the first faculty of Medicine of Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague (VFN abbreviation in Czech).

She presented to approximately 40 attendees practical aspects on how to participate on this type of funding, giving examples of Czech clinicians participating in these funding schemes, as well as how AMIRES can support them. She was introduced by Prof. Jan Bělohlavek who shared his recent experience in preparing a proposal as coordinator.

Together with her presentation, other speakers enlightened the audience with the patenting process in the Czech republic, the European Referent Networks in which VFN is member (MetaERN, RITA, ERN-RND, ERN-EYE, Endo-ERN and ERN-LUNG) and the competencies for collaboration from researchers on genomics, proteomics, biomarkers and others.

The event was opened by Prof. Martin Vokurka, First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University dean and Prof. Pavel Michálek, Deputy Director of the General Teaching Hospital for Science, Research and teaching. During the break and at the end of the talks, participants enjoyed refreshments while networking.

Despite the silos in the clinical research that may exist at the mentioned institutions, this seminar served as a starting point to find ways of collaboration and overcome them.
