Extra €110 million for Horizon in 2018

Extra €110 million was allocated to the Horizon 2020 programme in 2018, reverting a proposal made by EU governments to cut about half a billion euros from EU research budget and fixing the 2018 spending at €160.1 billion. The extra funds will be allocated to Marie Curie fellowship grants, the SME instrument, Europan Research Council, and some climate changes competitions.  In 2018, EU will spend on research €160.1 billion, which is an increase from €157.9 billion in 2017.
