FF2S case studies in the spotlight!

August 2

The FlexFunction2Sustain project has reached its successful conclusion after 52 months of dedicated collaboration. The FF2S case studies are a great result of this.

Throughout the project, partners of this EU initiative have been committed to creating a network for innovative solutions in sustainable and smart products, driven by nano-functionalized paper and plastic.

This effort has been aimed at supporting SMEs, start-ups, and industries in the development and market launch of pioneering products.

During the project, several promising results and prototypes have emerged. The performance of novel nano-functionalized plastic, paper, and membrane surfaces, as well as processes, were validated and demonstrated across six industrial use cases in various industrial environments.

Below, you will find the FF2S case studies linked to the project official webpage for more information:

  • Sustainable optical films for security and design (Hueck Folien)
  • Flexible Packaging (Procter & Gamble)
  • Membrane-based syringe filters for diagnostics and water filter applications (i3Membrane)
  • Smart multifunctional plastic surfaces in automotive (Fiat)
  • Fully Recyclable mono-material drink pouches (Capri-Sun)
  • Innovative fresh food packaging made of semi-transparent paper (SONAE MC)

These advancements mark significant strides toward more sustainable and innovative industrial practices.
