Republic of Korea to join Horizon Europe programme

Korea is set to join Horizon Europe programme, the EU’s research and innovation program.

Negotiations have concluded, with the signing of the Association Agreement expected in late 2024, enabling Korea’s participation from 2025.

This association reflects a shift in EU’s approach, welcoming countries with strong science profiles. The program, with a €95.5 billion budget, promotes global collaboration. Korea’s formal interest was expressed in 2022, signaling a significant step in EU-Korea research cooperation.
