The ETPN RegMed WG webinars are open to both ETPN members and non-members. By presenting recent advancement of ETPN members in the Regenerative Medicine field, these webinars aim to improve know how exchange, identification of key European experts and a wider networking between ETPN members (e.g. for collaborative projects). It is also intended to keep webinars open for ETPN non-members, particularly for industrial companies, to facilitate cooperation between researchers and enterprises (mainly SMEs).
During the event titled „Polymeric Nanocapsules as tools to face challenges in Regenerative Medicine„, Dr. Gemma Vilar Palos, senior researcher in the Human & Environmental Health & Safety in the R&D department of LEITAT Technological Center held a presentation on LEITAT activities and competencies in this area, highlighting the high modularity of polymeric nanoparticles suitable for multiple therapeutic applications. During the presentation and discussion among the partners, several cooperation project ideas and suitable H2020 calls were proposed. In the event opening section, Dr. Rudolf Fryček of AMIRES presented results of some activities undertaken by the ETPN RegMed Working Group:
- A survey among the ETPN RegMed WG members took place to identify topics of interest for international collaborative research projects. A greater involvement of businesses in defining the topics will be promoted.
- New therapies and devices for tissue regeneration, Nanotechnology for innovative in-vitro/in-vivo diagnostics methods, Antimicrobial implants and technologies against biofilm, Encapsulation of nanoparticles with novel/smart drug delivery materials and 3D biofabrication & cell printing ranked on high positions in the topics of interest.
- All identified topics were proposed to the European Commission and may appear in the Work Programme 2018 – 2020.
